Donlin Gold reports high-grade assays from 2022 drilling

The main focus of their activities this year is to undertake a 34,000 meter drill program with tightly spaced grid drilling as well as in-pit and out-of-pit exploration. The Donlin exploration team will then input these drill results into geological modeling and interpretation work that is used for updated resource models. In June, Donlin Gold’s board approved an additional 43 drill holes and 8,380 meters to fill one of the 20 meter grids at 10 meter spacing.

In addition to ongoing engineering studies to support mining schedules and life of mine business plans, Donlin Gold said this program will allow the company to proceed with the preparation of a study updated feasibility, subject to a formal decision.

The 2022 drilling not only expands on last year’s program, but also focuses on upside prospects in the ACMA and Lewis pits where drilling has so far been limited. The new assays received have so far yielded exceptional intercepts, highlighted by the following: 52.27 meters grading 14.63 g/t gold, 18.65 meters grading 10.78 g/t gold, 73.98 meters grading 4.21 g/t gold, 12.10 meters grading 22.15 g/t gold. t of gold and 44.58 meters grading 4.50 g/t of gold.

“As expected, the 2022 drilling program continues to improve our understanding of the ore bodies that make up the Donlin Project,” Barrick CEO Mark Bristow said in a press release. “It is also encouraging to see that this year’s drilling campaign is ahead of schedule and that the results so far support the latest modeling concepts as we focus on advancing the project towards a feasibility study decision.”

“The 2022 drill program has been extremely exciting, not to mention rewarding. With the latest round of analysis, we continue to enjoy some of the best gold intercepts in the mining industry,” said NovaGold President and CEO Greg Lang, adding that the outstanding results reported, such as the high grade at the ACMA and the depth of the exploration work, “further underpin Donlin Gold’s potential”.

With approximately 39 million oz. Grading 2.24 g/t (541 million tonnes) of gold in the measured and indicated mineral resource categories, the Donlin Gold Project hosts one of the largest and most undeveloped undeveloped open pit gold endowments. richest in the world.

The proposed pits in which the existing resources are located occupy only 3 km of an 8 km mineralized belt, itself located on less than 5% of Donlin Gold’s land position. Current activities at Donlin are focused on the drilling program, optimization efforts, community outreach, and advancing remaining state permitting actions.
