Metso Outotec announces the introduction of a new modular filter in its family of dual media (DM) filters, with the Metso Outotec DM1000 compact polishing filter particularly suitable for the removal and recovery of organic compounds and solids in small feed streams in battery chemical processes.

Thanks to its modular design, the filter is easy to expand, even for larger process flows, the company explains.

The DM1000 can be used as a traditional electrolytic filter in extraction processes as well as for purification of the feed stream before crystallization in metal crystallization processes.

“Since the launch of our first DM filters a few years ago, we have delivered nearly 50 DM and DM AC filters for hydrometallurgical extraction and crystallization processes,” says Mika Vuorikari, Director of Industrial Filtration at Metso Outotec . “We have delivered hundreds of polishing filters to mining, chemical and hydrometallurgical industries around the world.

“The addition of the DM1000 modular filter to our offering addresses the special needs of the rapidly growing battery industry, where high quality, sustainable filtration is required to ensure increased production capacities and high quality end products. “

Offering energy and water efficiency benefits, the Metso Outotec DM1000 Polishing Filter for Battery Chemicals is part of the company’s Planet Positive offering.
