Vango Mining Ltd confirms further gold intersections at the Marymia project

Current drilling results as well as historical results will be included in the resource upgrade of the Marymia project in 2022.

Vango Mining Ltd (ASX: VAN) has confirmed further gold intersections on its flagship Marymia Gold project in the Mid-West region of Western Australia.

Current drilling results as well as historical results will be included in the resource upgrade of the Marymia project in 2022.

Pigeon surface drilling results

The Pigeon pit has been targeted with five drill holes as part of Vango’s ongoing open pit resource extension program.

Results have been received for the first four holes and all gold intersections returned:

➢ 9 meters at 3 g / t gold from 111 meters in VPIRC0004 including 3 meters at 7.9 g / t from 114 meters;

➢ 2 meters at 1 g / t from 157 meters in VPIRC0004;

➢ 4 meters at 1.1 g / t from 134 meters in VPIRC0001;

➢ 2 meters at 2.2 g / t from 115 meters in VPIRC0002;

➢ 7 meters at 0.8 g / t from 124 meters in VPIRC0002; and

➢ 12 meters at 1 g / t from 121 meters in VPIRC0003.

These results show the continuity of a strong gold zone which globally follows an interpreted mineralized structure, which follows the contact between the sediments and the mafic packages.

In addition to the positive results from the current drilling, there are several high grade gold intersections from historic drilling under the current pit contour.

Progress of the 2021 drilling campaign

Vango is targeting 11 priority open pit pits in its 2021 drilling campaign.

The drilling is designed to add resources to the existing large Marymia resource base and to provide “critical mass” to support a stand-alone mining operation proposed on the Project.

The first phase of drilling in the 11 open pits is now complete and consisted of 8,914 meters of reverse circulation (RC) drilling through 56 holes.

All results from the first phase of drilling at the Skyhawk, Parrot, Apollo, Prickleys, Ibis, Exocet and Rosella surface mines were reported, as well as the first four holes of the Pigeon surface mine.

The results of the drilling in the other three open pits will be progressively published as they become available.

Next steps

Vango plans to conduct a second phase of follow-up drilling on all targets that yield positive results from the completed first round of drilling, in order to test further extensions of gold mineralization to be added to the Marymia resource base.

The planned resource upgrade will be compiled by Dr Spero Carras and David Jenkins of Terra Search.
